Sleepers Club – “Done Sailing”

/

“Done Sailing” is a consuming new track from Sleepers Club, an Atlanta-based project comprising Sydney Ward and Damon Moon, both of dream-pop act Bathe Alone. They describe the track as “a farewell to failed friendships, and a look inward to say goodbye to a former version of yourself – one where you’ve allowed others to possess too much control over your own path.”

“How did I get here?” a melodic vocal entry shows, immersing alongside jangly guitar crawls and a buzzing backing distortion. “Every day the same, circling indecision, palms go up in flames,” the vocals continue, traversing into an empowering “do my own thing” bridge and ensuing synth-shimmering entrancement; the aesthetic reminds fondly of a cross between TOPS and Tennis as the “done sailing with you” hook envelops. “Done Sailing” is a standout success from the project.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
