NYC-based drummer and songwriter Willis Mathewson unveils a warming country and rock infusion on newly released single “I’ve Been Callin’.” Tender guitar twangs, suave organs, and harmonious vocals complement a relatable lyrical prowess — exploring longing, loneliness, and the struggle to move on from a past love. “Even now the days go by, I think of you; I don’t know why I do,” Mathewson sings with a soulful vocal backing, culminating in a “that’s where I’m waiting for you” hopefulness.
The immersive track was recorded in Sear Sound studios in Midtown, NYC, and features a variety of collaborators noted in the NYC country and rock scene. Look for the band at various venues throughout New York and the Northeast, in addition to an upcoming music video for the track.
