Haus of Sound – “Madness”

/

Seattle-based band Haus of Sound unveil a mixture of atmospheric mystique and melodic immediacy with new track “Madness,” melding dark electronic elements with catchy alt-pop amiability. “I’m dancing in this madness,” lead vocalist Gabrielle lets out during the track’s magnetic central hook, intertwining funky guitar licks and spacey synths amidst her fervent vocal chops. That more pop-minded hook moves seamlessly into the more foreboding, electro-forward verses, which admit “my years are running out” alongside explorations into the unknown and “mistakes on repeat.”

The aforementioned “madness” refers thematically to a cycle of returning repeatedly to “something toxic, even when the world feels like it’s falling apart.” A particularly memorable bridge takes hold at 02:30, when glistening synths arrive into a hip-hop vocal switch-up. “Madness” dazzles in its eclectic, stylish production and heart-filled vocal work, which drive seamlessly between the soaring chorus and moments of spacey reflection. The track is a definitive success from Haus of Sound.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
