Allison’s Invention – “Over It”

Philadelphia-based Allison’s Invention, the project of singer-songwriter, producer, and film/theatre composer Allison Tartalia, channels empowerment through release on “Over It.” Blending bold synth-pop with orchestral weight, the track reflects reckoning, sarcasm, and self-renewal, shaped by Tartalia’s ability to craft both ballad-ready intrigue and fervent pop heights.

Heavy synth pulsations prance with decisive infectiousness to start, traversing into a patiently unfolding vocal lushness. “You can’t stand seeing her like this / It’s too hard to give the goodbye kiss,” Allison’s vocals let out, complemented thereafter by dreamy piano touches that build with momentum into an introspective bridge. “People don’t really change, they just become more of who they already were,” the vocals stir there, then expanding into a string-laden fervency with biting lyrical prowess: “You’ll never be a hero to me, that’s fine… I’m already over it.”

Further accounts of a “current I can’t fight” depict personal tumult as the interplay of piano, synths, and sturdy rhythms continue to envelop. The backing vocals during the bridge re-appears with magnetic qualities, as does the triumphant strings that arrive again during the chorus’ rousing allure. “There’s no point in anger,” Allison’s vocals continue during a cathartic segment, releasing bitterness and aspiring for renewal. “Over It” is a gripping, heart-on-sleeve pop success from Allison’s Invention.
