Continua continue to deliver a resonating rock sound on new track “Pristine,” another strong showing from the band, who caught our ears with a handful of standout singles in the past year. Their 2020 debut album Flagship also was amongst the year’s strongest releases, immersing in its balancing of dark soundscapes with hooky, melodic songwriting.
Suffice to say, we’re certainly anticipating the release of their forthcoming double LP in March. The resonating “Pristine” precedes it as a single, representative of the momentum-filled song structures Continua have impressed with throughout the years. Soaring guitar twangs, stampede-like percussion, and dark choir backings move with triumphant qualities to start, as Bishop Battle’s vocals emerge and ensue into a “stay here with me!” yearning — as pulsating guitars and backing vocal elements persist wonderfully. Continua wholly impress with “Pristine,” described thematically as “a celebration of going down together—unbowed, uncompromised, singer and band forever flawless in each other’s memory, and in the memory of everyone who ever felt the sound you made as one.”
