Drive Lullaby – “Isn’t it Strange?”

/

Spanish act Drive Lullaby craft a lovable mixture of dreamy synth-pop and post-punk rhythmic charm on new single “Isn’t it Strange?” — described thematically as “basically about how two people from very different worlds discover that love or connection can exist despite their differences.”

“Your stars they tangled into mine,” a smitten vocal radiance lets out, following a steady building-up of spacey synths and clanging bass undercurrent, the latter reminding enjoyably of New Order. The ensuing chorus delights in its more expressive twanging and layered vocal enthusiasm, letting out: “Isn’t strange, how we collide?” Resembling a fantastic mixture of New Order and The Associates, “Isn’t it Strange?” is an enveloping success from Drive Lullaby, artfully capturing the beauty of connection across personal differences.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
