Suzy’s Field – “Where Do You Go?”

Cork City, Ireland-based Suzy’s Field conjures a theatrical, retro-pop sensibility on “Where Do You Go?”, pairing a fun groove with richly arranged instrumentation and a playful sense of Halloween-friendly bounciness. Shifting between guitar-led passages, orchestral flourishes, and memorable vocal hooks, the track balances a mischievous edge with an easygoing melodic appeal.

Eerie organs and plucky momentum open the track, with a soundscape fit for chilly autumnal nights. A funky bass drive and twanging guitar progressions follow, adding an infectious element to the vibey, nocturnal allure. “When the spiders creepy crawl around the room, and the only light that’s shining is the moon,” a debonair vocal emergence unveils, delighting in the “if you lose control” expanse, where hazy keys and pulsing guitar momentum bolster the hooky ascent. “They will find you when you’re sleeping,” the vocals then envelop into a further infectious segment, inducing replays in its stylishness and melodic flair.

Strings and brass shine in the subsequent section, with shades of ELO in the string-laden prowess. Funky bass and cool brass meld with a return of the “find you when you’re sleeping” foreboding charm, with an absorbing re-injection of the Halloween-set organs, as well. The ascent to the three-minute turn compels as well, from breezy guitar jangling to a swaggering interplay between danceable strings, stabby brass, and funky bass. “Where Do You Go?” is a standout success of a track from Suzy’s Field.
