Sophia Corinne – “Let Me Know”

/

Asheville-based artist Sophia Corinne impresses with the stirring folk single “Let Me Know,” releasing ahead of her EP Isabel, out on Ghost Mountain Records in June. Corinne is known for her work in the band Wild Array (formerly Hoo:Lumes), and has also made waves with a solo career, across several singles and EPs.

The understated acoustics complement vocals that plead to “let me know.” The vocals play with an amiable, conversational tone — asking “what’chu been up to today?” — as slight percussion and plucky guitar tones emerge. The motivational pleadings — “you’re not a broken bicycle,” — prove fully resonating in trying to uplift spirits that seem “so far away.”

The steady instrumental pace allows the vocals and lyrics to shine, playing like a therapeutic antidote of sorts — “I’m okay, wish I weren’t so far away, but I’ll be here for you.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2023’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
