Pure Mids – “Don’t Quit”

/

“Don’t Quit” is a new track from Pure Mids, a trio that met years ago while playing shows with their previous bands throughout the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles. With Pure Mids, they pursue an “alternative/new gaze rock sound with a splash of neo-psychedelia,” which shows well on this new track. ’80s synths and a driving beat complement lush vocals, which lyrically convey the “ability to stick by someone through thick and thin.” A steady bass and whirring synths are constants throughout, as the vocals convey a serene presence reminiscent of The Radio Dept.

Pure Mids are quickly making a name for themselves, with tracks like this and the recent “No Time to Kill.” I look forward to seeing what they have in store for the upcoming year.

“Don’t Quit” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2018’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Lush Indie Electronic.
