Maria Sweet – “With Time”

Maria Sweet produces a fleeting and cleanly crisp rock sound with some seriously impressive vocals, evident within the first minute of this track. The raspy exhilaration around the 30-second mark impressively transitions to a wonderfully effervescent surf-pop-laden melodic twist that serves as a sensational hook. As such, “With Time” enjoyably swaps between fleeting rock, melodic power-pop, and atmospheric call-and-response surf-pop. It’s a wonderfully infectious hybrid that has resulted in many replays on my end, for this track and others on their Soundcloud.

Formed in 2009, the four-piece is certainly on the rise. Their new EP, Songs from the Sonoran, is an impressive showing headed by “With Time”, but equally impressive in dexterously enjoyable rockers like “Tick” and “March”. Stream it in full below:
