Midnight Pilot – “Stepping Stone”

/

Nashville-based act Midnight Pilot tout a rock sound that’s powerful and immersive from the get-go, their vocals projecting a bluesy twang over a alt-rock-leaning backing on new track “Stepping Stone”. The track builds to a very effective “I know” refrain, with soaring guitars, just past the two-minute mark. This leads to a suave “it’s just no good anymore” bridge that reoccurs with suave precision. Their muscle-y sound straddles between blues and alternative here, attaining a successful hybrid that manages to easily captivate with its digestible aesthetic and fun melody, repetitive enough to result in hypnotic replays though without being overbearing.
