Kyle Meadows – “Goin’ Down”

“Goin’ Down” is a brand new track from Kyle Meadows, touting a serene melodic flow,¬†with an aesthetic reminiscent of Kurt Vile and Elliott Smith. Previously featured with 2016 track “Low Time Call“, Meadows continues to refine his sound, still seeped in acoustics though with a more expansive shimmer with touches of keys and soft percussion. “Goin’ Down” is a melodically beautiful effort, serene and captivating.

“I’ve been playing guitar since i was 13 and started writing and recording my own music when I was 15 or 16, after reading an interview with Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse, where his advice to young artists was to buy a $99 tape recorder and put your music online. I started taking it more seriously in 2012 and released my first album in 2015,” Kyle explains.

“The song (Goin’ Down) started out as an acoustic song, but I felt it could be a bit more upbeat with added instrumentation. The theme behind the music video is more so a playful movie to the darkness of the song. It’s a very fun video, and I’ve always been fascinated by the way rabbits look, so I wanted to utilize all the props I had lying around. They are probably my favorite animal, second to cats of course.”
