Magma Mind – “Past to Present”

/

Los Angeles band Magma Mind show off an impressive sound on “Past to Present”, the first single from the band’s debut EP, releasing in early May. Its stylistic pursuit combines aspects of psych-pop, rock, and funk. The vocal tone reminds of Toro y Moi’s Chaz Bundick, touting a sort of cool nonchalance with ample backing-vocal versatility alongside the incorporation of both chilled-out guitar-pop and electronic-minded symphonic elements. The “I don’t mind,” vocal repetition results in a lovably hypnotic impact as the track comes to a close, effectively setting up the band’s forthcoming EP as one to anticipate.
