Three Close Friends – “Change My Mind”

/

Hailing from Thousand Oaks, CA, and currently based in Los Angeles, Three Close Friends are a trio consisting of Trevor Crown (guitar, vocals), Baxter Bailey (keyboards), and Arlan Cashier (drums). Crown’s twangy guitars and Jens Lekman-like croon makes for an appealing sound, propelled by Cashier’s steady percussion and Bailey’s enhancements of prancing synths in the chorus, first emerging at the one-minute mark. A melodic guitar-laden bridge works nicely thereafter. Throughout, “Change My Mind” is a stellar effort that shows Three Close Friends as possessing melodic charm and a knack for nice variation between verse and chorus.

“Change My Mind” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2018’ Spotify playlist.
