Releasing today, “Shine” is a pleasant and melodically consuming track from Andy Fonda, an immigrant from Central America who now calls the United States his home. Quaint acoustics initially accompany Fonda’s weary vocals, with additional vocal layering to follow, coinciding with fluttering guitar additions (and the rhythm section’s introduction shortly thereafter). From here, Fonda’s vocals glide with ease, pausing at 01:45 as a distorted guitar solo emerges. Alternating between folk-minded verses with an engaging sparseness and expansive, rock-forward sections, “Shine” is a fun listen.
