Americanadian – “Get Out of My Head, Thank You”

/

Americanadian are a band from Philadelphia, touting a lush and caressing vein of rock/dream-pop that’s reminiscent of Japanese Breakfast. Fronted by Serena Scalzi’s entrancing vocals, the band is rising quickly in the Philly scene, propelled by memorable tracks like the just-released “Get Out of My Head, Thank You.” The effort begins inconspicuously enough, with a lullaby-set vocal presence – “your voice singing me to sleep,” – guiding to the expansion at 00:34. “Couldn’t feel any better than I do right now,” Scalzi sings here, the track riding in a melodic haze from there on, impressing especially in the final minute as guitar twangs and a lush backing synth play nicely. “Get Out of My Head, Thank You” provides a great start to a chilled-out weekend.

“Get Out of My Head, Thank You” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2018’ Spotify playlist.
