ALMNC – “(If) I Could Love”

/

ALMNC are a duo from Bakersfield, California, churning out a highly melodic and atmospheric vein of electronic pop. Aesthetically in the realm of influences like Washed Out and Toro y Moi, ALMNC — comprised of multi-instrumentalists Zachary Spier and Evan Ware — dropped their debut, self-titled EP in July 2017. Their most recent foray is the excellent track “(If) I Could Love,” released in the past month. The intro begins with lush synths and serene vocals fading in, with ensuing climactic verses helping return to this initial hook with seamless precision. I’m fondly reminded of Pet Shop Boys here in stylistic delivery and general tone. “(If) I Could Love” is a slice of delightfully hypnotic electronic pop from this rising California duo.

“(If) I Could Love” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Lush Indie Electronic.
