Sea Salt – “Frames”

/

Sea Salt is the project of Seattle-based artist Kurt Roy, who employs an engaging dream-pop aesthetic that rides on tranquil guitars and serene vocals, reminiscent of Wild Nothing. The first 17 seconds show this expansive dream-pop sound, with instruments scaling back in favor of a single guitar as Roy’s serene vocals come into play. The blissful guitar textures return by the 50-second mark, with the rest of this beautiful track maintaining this now-established textural dreaminess. “Frames” is a very easy track to get lost in, and a certain success from Sea Salt.

“Frames” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Shoegaze / Post-Punk / Dream-Pop.
