Rex Hudson – “Guidelines”

/

“Guidelines” is the first single off Rex Hudson’s debut LP, showing a soaring psych-pop sound with vibrant rhythms, bright synths, and smooth guitar additions. The first couple minutes are blissfully melodic and accessible. The synth-forward bridge prior to the three-minute mark shows an infectiously chopped vocal section that plays with contagious allure. Somewhere between the worlds of Cut Copy and Tame Impala, stylistically, “Guidelines” is a stellar release and introduction from Rex Hudson.

“Guidelines” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2019’ Spotify playlist.
