Premiere: Tape Tension – “With Our Eyes Closed”

“With Our Eyes Closed” touts a lush electro-pop groove driven by pulsing synths and guitar flourishes, aesthetically reminiscent of The Radio Dept. The melody touts an effervescent pick-me-up around 01:43. It’s a calming and melodic success from Tape Tension, the project of Minneapolis-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Jack Ross.  Additional guitar gliding emerges during the final minute, wrapping up this memorable in engaging form. “With Our Eyes Closed” is a quality track that we’re happy to premiere.

Per the artist, the track “deals with the struggle of putting a relationship on hold and waiting things out when you’re not together with someone because of distance, hoping things will come back together in the future. In the meantime, you’re both stuck just aimlessly exploring other people, but feeling that it’s pointless when you’re really just waiting for things to come back around with that person.”

“With Our Eyes Closed” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2019’ Spotify playlist.
