GLIA – “You’re Right”

/

Showing a dreamy shoegaze-forward sound, “You’re Right” is a track off Houston-based GLIA’s new album 10,000 Plateaus. Reverbed guitars cast a melancholic feel initially, with a post-punk rhythmic reverberation backing up. Vocals fade in gently, aesthetically comparable to Wild Nothing. Fuzzy guitars enter around 01:13, the distortion adding enjoyable warmness to the initially dreamy mix. The track adeptly transitons from fuzz-based guitars in the shoegaze vein and more understated dream-pop feel, resulting in a climactic and melodic success. The rest of 10,000 Plateaus is certainly recommended, with similar goodness throughout.
