“VIP” is a catchy new track from Sluka, impressing in the past with efforts like “Hey Oh” and “Ready to Connect.” Following a burst of synths, the track starts with warming yet brisk guitars. Vocals emerge at the 30-second mark, expanding gradually to escalating vocal-based passion about a minute later. “If I had my VIP, I could relax, I could be free,” leads to a fun, melodic “is it changing your mind?” hook. Stylistically, I’m fondly reminded of the legendary duo Sparks. The San Diego-based act continues to churn out fun, interesting material.
