Hushed vocals and caressing guitar distortion pairs with a head-nodding rhythmic presence, finding a lovely cross of dream-pop, shoegaze, and trip-hop in its delectably lethargic sound. The one-minute turn delights in its shift to a more jangly illumination and higher-pitched vocal elements, while the use of analog re-amping is utilizing in a successful attempt to impart “the feeling of recreating a memory.” “Kelpie” is a stirring, heady output from Stella stella.
