Superocean – “Best Thing”

/

Fit for nighttime driving and other nocturnal adventures, “Best Thing” is a dream-pop success from Portland, OR act Superocean, who impressed with the track “Animal Caller” last year. An atmospheric key-driven lead gives way to lush guitar reverberations upon the vocals’ entry. The “best thing in the world,” bridge around 02:20 expands to an exhilarating rise shortly thereafter, with perked-up vocals merging with a bouncy bass line and resonating key lead. “Best Thing” is a delight.

“Best Thing” comes via the group’s forthcoming third EP, out this summer.

“Best Thing” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
