Sara Ontaneda – “Separated by the Sea”

/

Impressing in the past with enjoyably mellow forms of folk and R&B, with tracks like “Chico Bien” and “Hey Maria,” Sara Ontaneda finds similar enjoyment — with a touch of synths and jangly guitars — on new track “Separated by the Sea.” Representing the third single from Ontaneda’s new album Experimento, the New York-based artist shows accessible melodic power throughout. The “should have been there,” refrain is especially notable, giving into the “please forgive me,” hook. Ontaneda continues to impress on this track, also produced by her brother Sebastian Ontaneda, who worked on the single from his Guayaquil, Ecuador studio.

“Separated by the Sea” and other memorable tracks from June can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2020’ Spotify playlist.
