Kevin Kaho Tsui – “Better Days”

/

A serenely enthralling dream-pop showing, “Better Days” is another resonating success from Kevin Kaho Tsui. First catching my ear with “Gone” in April, “Better Days” casts a similarly lush spell. Delicate, hypnotic vocals are adorned by twangy guitars and lush rhythms, with the track title and overall theme nudging for optimism amidst chaos, something anyone can relate with these days. The poignant lyrics and twangy dream-pop aesthetic consume throughout. Tsui continues to show a knack for beautifully unfolding melodies with hooky appeal; “Gone” and “Better Days” are both excellent tracks.

“Better Days” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of December 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
