“Dismantled” is a riveting track from The Retrospecter, the project of Cody Harris. Synth flashes and a chugging bass line accompany suave vocals to start. An infectious chorus follows, with guitars and synths intermingling among catching vocals — “control yourself,” — that resemble a cross of Franz Ferdinand and Electric Six. The production throughout is excellent, projecting momentum in the verses and following with a hook that satiates considerably. The bass line becomes easily stuck in my head from the get-go, steadily accompanied by delightful synths, guitars, and vocal hooks. “Dismantled” is a delightfully fun success from The Retrospecter.
