Fly the Nest – “Old Street Lover”

/

A newly released track from Dublin native Fly the Nest, “Old Street Lover” touts a peppy rock sound with accessible appeal. An energetic rhythm section and ascending vocals lead to the satiating “find some satisfaction,” chorus, complete with glimmers of guitar. The title-referencing bridge around 02:15 plays with a slowed-down, retrospective charm — “she’s got it, she’s got it,” Cooper repeats into climactic distorted guitars. “Old Street Lover” shows an infectious, accessible vein of rock with some ’90s Brit-pop nostalgia and overall hooky appeal.

“Old Street Lover” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2021’ Spotify playlist.
