“Ghosts RPT” is a quality showing from Ola Sweet, off the band’s new album, Carnation. Gentle guitars and serene vocals unfold steadily, as strings usher in alongside dreamy vocal adornments past the one-minute mark. The track, with its orchestral additions and emotive vocals, strikes with its aesthetic beauty. The wordless vocals that follow are haunting. The duo of JJ Martinsen and Brandon Wallace crafted Carnation over the long winter, emerging with a collection of melodic, emotive successes that are strongly recommended. The album’s self-titled track is another stunner, in particular.
