Rock of Asia – “Lal Dhaga”

/

“Lal Dhaga” showcases the merging of traditional Japanese folk elements with rock music, exemplary of the eclectic approach from Rock of Asia. The Japanese project is fronted by musician Nikki Matsumoto, who spent 15 years in Los Angeles writing rock music professionally. Matsumoto formed the project in 2010. Rock of Asia’s new album commemorates their first release (put out on March 11th, 2011). “Lal Dhaga” also showcases a Middle Eastern influence in the diverse instrumentation, which isn’t particularly surprising, since the project toured the Middle East in 2012 and 2019. Matsumoto believes that people can be united through music, a great tool for unity. Rock of Asia, with its diversely stimulating sound merging traditional and modern elements, is a testament to that ideology.

“Lal Dhaga” and other memorable tracks released in April can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2021’ Spotify playlist.
