Committee of Vultures – “Dressed to Get Naked”

Releasing ahead of next year’s album Everybody Wants the Blues, “Dressed to Get Naked” is a charismatic Christmas song from New Jersey-based collective Committee Of Vultures. A party-time assembling of expressive brass lead into a soulfully charismatic vocal lead, setting the scene with a rainy-day Christmas. Brass spurts intensify as the vocals call for the bartender, escalating to the title-touting hook. The bluesy piano and sweltering vocals drive to the memorable “waits for drinks,” bridge, adding an eerie mood within the fervent soundscape. “Dressed to Get Naked” is indicative of the project’s charisma and melodic strengths, firmly setting up anticipation for next year’s album, Everybody Wants the Blues.

The project is part of independently owned and operated record label Jersey Delta Records, whose management and staff are direct descendants of the area’s unique local population within New Jersey’s “Delta Region,” a disenfranchised region with significant musical and cultural history.
