Dude Low – “Amnesia”

Strutting a hypnotic psych-pop engrossment with warmly concluding saxophone, “Amnesia” is a stellar new track from French artist Dude Low. Buzzy synths and embracing organs join alongside snap-laden percussion for an eerie introduction, the opening lyrics showing a sense of escapism and yearning: “I’m just looking for some lightning coming out from the dark / I’m just looking for action buried in the abyss.”

Synth-laden pulses and sporadic bass drive to the saxophone addition rounding the three-minute mark; the brass, nocturnal synth tones, and brooding yet melodic vocal delivery converge for an especially memorable aesthetic, one that touts a moody melodic pull.

The track comes via the upcoming album Ego Trip, out this April on Fogwood Records.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2022’ Spotify playlist.
