Walking Apollo – “Impossible: The Fairytale Of Campus Martius Park”

/

Texas-based act Walking Apollo shows a stirring, expansive folk sound with dual vocal harmonies throughout the new EP You’re My Pride and Joy, Etc.. “Impossible: The Fairytale Of Campus Martius Park” is a particular standout; the guitars and yearning vocals conjure ’90s nostalgia amidst spirited harmonica, courtesy of Liam Ward. “Sew” is another highlight, especially its rousing chorus — “sew my eyes shut,” — amidst escalating guitars, following jazzy flourishes into the verses. This one showcases Christina Rotondo’s melodic vocal presence. The EP overall presents a passionate, soaring sound fully representative of Buddy Taccolini’s engaging songwriting.
