Modern Daze – “Smkscrn”

//

Modern Daze mesh ’80s synth nostalgia with rousing rock guitars on their catchy new track “Smkscrn.” The Tacoma, WA-based act navigate from stylish synth-pop to rousing rock in a cohesive flash, feeling like a dash-jump from the ’80s to ’90s. “Don’t get too close, we do this everyday,” the vocals let out while suavely driving into the second chorus, and into the track’s enjoyable mid-section. Here, subdued vocals and glistening keys take the forefront. Thunderous guitars emerge past the two-minute mark, further showcasing the track’s engrossing electronic/rock stylistic interplay. “Smkscrn” is an invigorating success from Modern Daze.

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2022’ Spotify playlist.
