Whether you’re a patron of the poker table or you like to dabble in roulette, nothing takes you back to your favorite casino like listening to a memorable movie soundtrack.

Casino Royale

Arguably one of the best casino movies of all time, Casino Royale takes the first spot on our list.

Remembered for its introduction of Daniel Craig as the modern James Bond, this action-packed entry saw the famous spy trying to outwit villain Le Chiffre while playing one of the tensest games of poker ever played.

Former Soundgarden vocalist, the late Chris Cornell, delivered the Bond theme song “You Know My Name’ with the long-time Bond composer, David Arnold providing the film’s sweeping score, a timeless Bond soundtrack, and one of the best casino movie soundtracks out there.

Casino

With a cast featuring Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci, and Sharon Stone, it only makes sense that this is one of the most defining casino flicks of all time.

The unbelievably talented Martin Scorsese directed this film, much like his previous movies; this film had a soundtrack to remember.

With memorable hits spanning several decades, Scorsese managed to find the perfect balance between hard-hitting pop and rock songs, big band classics, and a thoroughly moving score.

Oceans 11, 12 and 13

You literally can’t have a list of the best casino movie soundtracks without mentioning the Ocean’s trilogy.

The three heist movies managed to rake in over $450 million at the box office due to the movie’s enigmatic cast, hilarious heists, and an unbelievably fantastic soundtrack. Nothing goes better with gambling than the right type of music!

Based on the 1960’s flick of the same name, the Oceans team took us from the casinos of Las Vegas to Paris and back again, with the lush score leading the way.

The Cincinnati Kid

Although this classic Steve McQueen movie spends a lot of time focusing on poker tables, it still qualifies for our list because it has such an impressive soundtrack, including Steve McQueen gambling!

With many of the songs on the album being performed by Lalo Schifrin, it is often regarded as the best casino movie soundtrack due to the Ray Charles sung “The Cincinnati Kid,” which features at the end of the film.

Bugsy

This 1991 Warren Beatty film follows the life of American mobster Bugsy Siegel and his dream of building the famous Flamingo casino in Las Vegas.

With a soundtrack created by the legendary Ennio Morricone, this movie is an inside look at the celebrated gangster and his part in establishing Las Vegas as the world’s gambling capital.

Morricone’s soundtrack only adds the romance and mystery of this often forgotten casino movie.

Maverick

This Mel Gibson helmed film has the best collection of gambling songs this side of the Mississippi and takes place on a riverboat gambling tour!

Featuring songs titled A Good Run for Something Bad, Renegades and Luck Already Gone, you know you’re in for a solid two hours of poker playing hijinks and scores of good ole’ gambling tunes.

The Hangover

A classic buddy movie that solely takes place on the strip, The Hangover quickly became one of the funniest movies ever made in the great state of Nevada.

Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zack Galafanikis all had star turns in this all-out comedy that saw three friends try to piece together the events of a bachelor party the night before.

Featuring a soundtrack loaded with hits, including the T.I. and Rihanna track “Live Your Life,” it’s impossible to visit LAs Vegas without having this soundtrack blasting from your speakers!

There’s no doubt that to achieve the perfect casino movie; you need a memorable soundtrack to help bring the flick to life. Without the sounds of swing, big band, and classical music, directors can have a hard time trying to make their casino movies believable.
