Quaint key twinkling and twangy guitars concoct an easy-going beginning, the vocals remarking “I hope it all goes well / I really hope you don’t die alone, with roaches at your funeral.” The “say goodbye,” rise conjures Brit-pop nostalgia with its warming guitar distortion and anthemic vocal hook. The twinkling verses and raucously riveting chorus contrast enjoyably, especially relative to the guitar-based textures past the two-minute mark alongside spoken-word backing. “Track Shoes” is an invigorating, consuming accomplishment from Leon in the Wild.
