London-based trio Sweet Giant craft a nostalgic, twangy rock sound throughout the consuming “Til You’re Blue,” a track from their forthcoming EP. A bouncy bass and escalating guitars complement Annie Needham’s suave vocals, evoking a cinematic feeling — like traversing through the desert as the sun sets. The chugging guitars and bass play with an inconspicuous allure, the chorus separating with a distinctive yet subtle rise, capped off brilliantly by psych-friendly guitar tones and fuzzy bass past the three-minute turn. “Til You’re Blue” presents a breezy throwback rock sound that easily hooks; this is an ideal track for easing into a relaxing weekend, with the open road at your feet.

The band writes the following about the release:

“This EP is our first release since before the pandemic. We spent ‘lockdown’ honing in on and discovering a new direction in our writing . We taught ourselves how to record and produce ourselves, in order to gain a clear vision for our sound as well as becoming more self efficient as an unsigned band.

Our most recent London headline show was our first Sold Out show, playing to a 250 capacity at The Finsbury, showcasing our new material along with a visual liquid light show.”

This track and others featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2022’ Spotify playlist.
