Parts haunting and enchanting, Belgian band MAUGER craft a compelling sound throughout their new single “Ma Ja.” Suave vocals and escalating, flickering guitars drive to a ghostly vocal backing presence. Gentle piano tones weave in throughout, joining alongside the elongated vocal emphasis past the first minute. The keys assume a prominent vibrancy thereafter at points, delighting with their airy tone alongside the trickling guitars. “Ma Ja” enamors with lovely, melodic intent.
Look for the band’s second album to release this October.
