London-based singer/songwriter Dan Pye shows a passionate pop sound on the new track “Magick,” representing the fourth and final single from his EP, Funny Way of Dying Kid. A spacey synth pad and vibrant guitar plucks lead into vocals that suggest to “take the night off, time’s fleeting.” The reflection of synths and percussion add well to the contemplative pull, exceling in the ensuing hook.

“You push me up to bring me back down,” Pye sings during this exuberant chorus, excelling with an uptick in vocal passion amidst the reflective backing. The “magic spell,” burst invigorates with each entry, particularly in gearing to the soaring finale, which echoes the initial vibrant synth/guitar interplay.

“It’s a song about finding yourself through solitude, feeling alienated and withdrawn but through that process bringing yourself back in alignment with your truest self,” Pye explains.
