Waves Crashing – “Life on Display”

///

Olympia-based band Waves Crashing captivate with the track “Life on Display.” Dynamic guitar tones swell throughout; the initial showing of jangly guitars and dreamy vocals play climactically, culminating in a blast of shoegaze-friendly fuzz past the two-minute turn. Thereafter, the jangly and harder-rocking guitar tones intermingle seamlessly, as the vocals hypnotize further into the “all across the ocean,” concluding refrain.

The stellar single comes via the band’s upcoming EP, The Viewing, releasing on March 2nd. They first caught our ears this past spring with the EP high/low, and continue to impress with a sound steeped in textured guitars, dreamy vocal hooks, and hypnotic rock allure.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2023’ Spotify playlist.
