The Appalachians – “Killer Ritalin”

/

Milwaukee-based The Appalachians show a compelling, menacing alt-rock sound on their new single “Killer Ritalin.” The halted guitar before the “settle down,” sequence at the 30-second mark plays climactically, with the ensuing blistering distortion engaging amidst the more hurried vocal lead.

Solemn guitars approaching the two-minute turn craft an engaging bridge amidst the “figure it out,” vocal, which escalates with impassioned invigoration. The track’s dynamic tonal showing makes for a thrilling listen throughout, propelled by exciting guitar work, escalating rhythms, and Adam Sutkiewicz’s impassioned vocals.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2023’ Spotify playlist.
