Portland (OR)-based quartet Buddy Wynkoop craft a tightly infectious sound on new single “Relatable.” The bass-fronted suaveness shows an initial entrancement reminiscent of Talking Heads, with gradual vocal escalations remarking “I cry at night until I feel fine,” alongside salutations and yearning to be “relatable.” A heavier, punk-forward blast of guitar distortion envelops in the exciting conclusion. “Relatable” is a blast of a track, with shades of Talking Heads and LCD Soundsystem.
