Dream Tonic + Lucien Francis – “Carry Me”

/

A dreamy electro-pop success, “Carry Me” is the latest single from Dream Tonic. The San Diego-based project of Kristin Allen-Farmer enamored with previous singles “I Take To You” and “Promise of a New Day” — and with “Carry Me” delivers a more infectious, electronic-minded sound that expands the lusher dream-pop palate into a more club-friendly, synth-forward allure.

A collaboration with Bay Area-based producer Lucien Francis, “Carry Me” is a climactic riser that culminates in a heady “beautiful,” refrain — propelled by a dazzling range of synths both buzzing and dreamy in nature. Allen-Farmer’s maintain an engrossing mystique throughout, with the pitch distortion amidst the final “beautiful,” refrain sending chills.

I’m drawn in by this more dance-pop forward energy, and am excited to hear what’s next from this collaborative duo, who are also both on ill.Gates’ Producer Dojo record label and producers/composers for the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Adventure Hotel at Disney World.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of March 2023’ Spotify playlist.
