Bill Bingley – “Halogen Dreams”

//

Australian singer/songwriter Bill Bingley enamors on the new track “Halogen Dreams,” expanding from his previous acoustic-forward sound into a glowing psychedelic pop presentation. Warming guitar strums and bright, spacey synths intertwine amidst Bingley’s calming vocal composure, emitting lyrics that “describe a teenaged night out in the city, with the bright lights trying to block out the seedy reality hidden in the shadows.”

A soaring guitar presence stirs past the two-minute turn, as heavier percussion and the glitzy synths fade into an acoustical underlying. “Halogen Dreams” is a dynamic, melodic success that emphasizes the strong songwriting of Bill Bingley, who previously played in bands such as Hey Geronimo, The Worriers, and Papperbok.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2023’ Spotify playlist.
