“Circles” is a catchy rocker from Jwalttz, an artist based in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Bursting, twangy guitars envelop the brisk introduction. The lyrics reflect a sense of growing up and thankfulness, remarking “and now I can’t imagine where I’d be without your help,” prior to the soaring chorus. “Do you remember when we first met?” the vocals ask during this enamoring sequence, punctuated by playful synths intermingling with the lush guitar jangles.
The second half shows well in its versatility. A sludgy, dramatic guitar sequence approaching the four-minute mark compels, as does the hints of bossa nova thereafter, prior to a familiarly inviting rock-forward push to close it out. “Circles” is a fun, dynamic success from Jwalttz.
