Alex Klb – “Escape”

/

Take a nighttime drive with Alex Klb‘s “Escape” and you’re likely to become immersed in the neon lights whizzing by. The track struts a certain type of synthwave-minded soundscape that enamors in moments of both twinkling contemplation and buzzing invigoration. The Dutch artist intends the release as “an uplifting and liberating soundtrack for moments when you need to break free and find your own way to freedom.”

Momentum pushes forward with faint synths evolving with precision into a buzzing bass-synth envelopment, stuttering with a consistent vigor amidst the spacey synth pad backing. A rhythmic perkiness brings forth a synth lead past the first minute, where a glitzy synth arpeggio assumes a cathedral-like spaciousness.

These gradual, excitable additions prove stirring in maintaining the nighttime-friendly glow, though with added effervescence in liftoff moments, such as within the arpeggiated twinkling. Alex Klb’s “Escape” balances patient atmospherics with an immediate melodic payoff.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2023’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
