Sebastian Clarin – “Tongue Particles”

/

“Tongue Particles” is a dreamy electro-pop offering from Stockholm-based artist Sebastian Clarin, following up last year’s debut album Aerial Cuts. New-wave and electro-pop influence converge with a more stately singer/songwriter appeal, as the vocals exude a deep-toned confidence with wry wit.

A buzzing synth arp finds brighter accompaniments in twinkling keys and an escalating vocal passion. “She was a vampire,” the vocals let out during a twinkling rise. “But now I’m lost in your eyes,” they admit, surrounded by a glitzy synth-fronted appeal that shows shades of Erasure. “I need you, I don’t need you,” marks a catching refrain, building with cohesive enthrallment into a reprisal of the “she was a vampire,” hook. “Tongue Particles” is a steadily melodic single with a reverberating electro-pop tonal consistency.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2023’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
