The Gromble – “Saturday”

/

It’s “Saturday,” so brighten your day with this new track from The Gromble. The band recorded the track in North Hollywood with producer producer Jon Joseph, and they channel a melodic rock sound centered around the catching “Saturday afternoon,” hook. Per the band, the track is about “the sudden feeling that someone you thought you knew has become a stranger overnight.”

A galloping rhythm section drives into bursts of guitar and spacey synths, as brassy flourishes precede a shimmering bridge and hook. The prancing synth component evolves seamlessly into the “Saturday afternoon, talking with somebody new,” breeziness. “Saturday” fuses power-pop and synth-touched rock emotion for an addictive, brightly melodic success.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2023’ Spotify playlist.
