NYC project Uncle Skunk enthrall with their latest single “Aussie Tender,” whose harmonious and hook-minded rock sound conjures a nostalgia reminiscent of The Replacements.
Releasing ahead of a new EP this fall (which doesn’t include this track), “Aussie Tender” grabs from the get-go with confident vocals and “remember when,” reflections. Twangy guitar goodness drives into the irresistible “all the songs are wasted on you,” hook, bolstered further with a dreamy vocal send-off into the verses’ reprisal. “Aussie Tender” is a throwback alt-rock slice of ear candy from Uncle Skunk.
