Park Secret – “Happy To Be Here”

/

“Happy To Be Here” is an infectious single out today from Park Secret, an artist based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. A chugging bass line and steady percussive accompaniment complement an understated vocal presence, aspiring to “find a little purpose,” amidst temptations. A slight guitar line surrounds enjoyably during the “I’m happy to be here,” resonance, gearing seamlessly back into the preceding verses.

The concise guitar lines and steady rhythms remind fondly of Field Music, particularly in the expansion to more vibrant guitar work and general ardency in the second half. Trickling guitars and rousing twangs alike enamor past the two-minute turn, culminating into another sating title-referencing engrossment. “Happy To Be Here” is a melodic success from Park Secret, who poignantly captures the sensation of overcoming life’s obstacles amidst a gradually expanding structural appeal.

Park Secret is prepping an upcoming EP, set for release in 2024. Per the artist, it’s “centered on self-discovery and shedding the persona crafted as a façade to navigate the world.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2023’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
